Bellingham Festival of Music

JULY 5 - JULY 21st

The Bellingham Festival of Music brings together principal players from major North American orchestras and exceptional musicians from other local, regional and national ensembles. These talented artists, under the direction of Artistic Director Michael Palmer, form the Festival Orchestra. The Orchestra will perform five concerts from July 5 - July 21st. The concert on July 21st, featuring the Festival Chorus and guest sopranos, Frederica von Stade, Heidi Grant-Murphy, and Katie… Show more Van Kooten, will be at the Mount Baker Theatre. The other four orchestral concerts featuring, Joshua Roman,cello on July 5th, Ray Chen, violin on July 9th, Garrick Ohlsson, piano,on July 13th, and Pepe Romero, guitar, will be held at WWU Performing Arts Center. Our Chamber by the Bay concert, July 14th,will be held at the Bellingham Cruise Terminal. Two free chamber concerts will be held at the Whatcom Museum of History and Art at 2 pm on July 11th and July 17th. On July 19th, members of the Festival chorus will join WWU Choral Arts Symposium for a choral concert at 7:30 pm at the WWU PAC Concert Hall.

A violin master class with Ray Chen will be held on July 8th from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm at Christ the Servant Lutheran Church. An oboe master class with Joseph Robinson will be held on July 10th from 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm at WWU PAC Concert Hall with free parking in Lot 14G. These master classes are free and open to the public to observe.
