WWU's AS Productions Pop Music presents THE 4TH ANNUAL POP MUSIC INDUSTRY CONFERENCE. All ages welcome.
Theme: "Music As A Movement:" An exploration of the relationship between the music industry and social issues.
Aiming to bring music industry professionals outside of the fast-paced business world into an intimate conversation, this will be an opportunity to build connections and start a discussion around music as not just an art form, but as a movement that unites people. PopMIC 2013 – Music As… Show more A Movement will explore how we use music as an underlying tool for a conversation about social issues that impact us all on a day to day basis. This conference is not only for the aspiring musician or talent buyer, nor is it only for an established professional in the field. Music As A Movement is an opportunity for anyone with a passion for music and social issues to come together and discuss what truly matters to them.
Speakers will include Hollis Wong Wear and John Roderick, noted industry professionals, as well as panelists from AEG Live, Vera Project, Protosong, Rain City Girls Rock Camp, Playworks, Sound on the Sound, Noise for the Needy, and many more.

Join us in the ASProductions Gallery for the conclusion and closing reception of "SOLD OUT," a VU Gallery exhibit showcasing exemplary concert poster designs from local venues, including some Western student work. There will also be a competition, in which you will vote to decide what the best designer is. "Sold Out" leads up to the Pop Music Industry Conference on Feb. 2.
