Lumpkins 4-Year Anniversary Show

On a dark and dreary February evening at the Green Frog in 2009, Aaron Harmonson, Joe Metzger, Mara Fields, Karl Olson, and David Ney performed original country music for the first time under the name "Lumpkins".

They set out to create the world's most beloved country band, and failed miserably.

After losing confidence in their "fearless" leader David Ney, member after member quit the band to pursue more interesting and lucrative projects.

Desperation drove Ney to force a young man named Kevin… Show more Lee to join the band at gunpoint. This would be the beginning of a magical collaboration that would revitalize the spirit of Lumpkins, drawing new talent such as bassist Christopher Stainback and electric guitarist Tyler Clarke.

Ney grew frustrated with the comings and goings of drummers, that he sought to replace the drummer altogether with a drum machine. One fateful evening he happened upon a DJ gig by a young DJ named "Blastoff". He invited Blastoff to program beats to create the world's first EDM Country band. Blastoff revealed that his alter ego was one Ross Robinette, and was actually quite a capable drummer. Lumpkins went with him instead.

Now, 4 years later the quintet will perform on Feb. 12, 2013 at Cap Hansen's Bar, in order to celebrate the fact that Lumpkins has not died a horrible death. Viva Lumpkins!
