1978 Jonestown Murder-Suicide Survivor

Laura Kohl, a survivor of Jonestown, will share her experiences in an open question and answer session in Miller Hall 152.
Laura Kohl joined Peoples Temple in 1970 and was a member for the next 9 years. In California, the responsibilities she earned on the group’s “Planning Commission” led to her assignment in 1976 to a team sent to Guyana to help build the Peoples Temple Agricultural Project. Her story is one of resilience in the aftermath of exceptional loss, and a strong testimony for religious understanding.
