Dave Tucker (Mount Baker Volcano Research Center) will speak about the eruption history and hazards from Mount Baker. The talk, sponsored by Kiwanis Club of Skagit-Mount Vernon, presents the most up-to-date knowledge about the volcano, how it is monitored, and what to expect from future activity. Baker is the second most active volcano in the Cascades, and as young as Saint Helens. Tucker is a coauthor of an upcoming US Geological Survey report on the volcano, and a researcher at WWU.
