Benefit/Fundraiser, Social Event
Faced with rising costs of higher education, Western Washington University students from the Communication Studies department are hosting the #CampWWU WeAreWWU education enrichment campaign event from 6-11 p.m., Saturday, May 27th at Boundary Bay Brewery in downtown Bellingham.
The event is open to all ages with a $6 admission or $5 with a student ID, which will go directly to education enrichment funds as part of the WeAreWWU campaign.
This event is part of the WeAreWWU fundraising campaign, a service-learning project for a communication and fundraising class at WWU. The campaign hopes to raise $15,000 for education enrichment opportunities for WWU students. Last year’s event garnered over $9,000 worth of support, and was the first of this annual event.
In addition to the beer garden amenities, the event will include live music from local bands Simple Minded Symphony and Snug Harbor. The event will also include Mallards ice cream from 6-8 pm, a raffle with prizes from local vendors, silent auction, face painting and recognition of various WWU- related programs.
