Icelandic Holiday Craft Faire

he Point Roberts Artisans Guild is celebrating the rural community’s Icelandic pioneer heritage this year with an Icelandic theme at their 10th annual Point Roberts Icelandic Christmas Craft Faire. The event takes place from 10 - 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 and from 11 - 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, and features widely respected crafters and artisans from the Point Roberts community.
The Faire will offer fiber, glass and paper arts, jewelry, food and baked goods, soaps, candles, beach-themed décor pieces,… Show more wreaths and Christmas crafts.
Local musicians and food crafters are also contributing to the two-day event festivities with seasonal music, song and edibles.
Building on a tradition of community involvement and a long-standing commitment of giving back to the community, the Faire features a Festive Walk along Gulf Road where visitors can drop into galleries, shops and eateries and have their Icelandic Faire “passport” stamped.
Faire goers can also enter a raffle - with prizes generously donated by artisans and Point Roberts businesses - that will benefit the local student support charities “Dollars for Scholars” and the “Band to Japan” initiative. The Dollars for Scholars program has helped many Point Roberts high school graduates meet the cost of post-secondary education.
