Corelli and Handel's Soprano, presented by the Salish Sea Early Music Festival
Soprano Linda Tsatsanis, harpsichordist Jan Weinhold from Luebeck, Germany and baroque flutist Jeffrey Cohan celebrate Corelli's 300th anniversary and a dramatic selection of vocal works by Handel, including joyous and heart-wrenching selections from the Nine German Arias, Sweet Bird from L'Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato, and the cantata Lucrezia, a dramatic portrayal of the legend of Lucretia whose rape and subsequent suicide in ancient Rome led to the formation of the Roman Republic.
