Schooner Adventuress Centennial

In February 1913, the Auxiliary Schooner Adventuress was launched at the Rice Brothers Yard in East Boothbay Maine. This fine schooner yacht was designed by b.b.crowninshield and commissioned by Mr. John Borden of Chicago for a voyage to Alaska and the Arctic to collect marine mammal specimens for the American Museum of Natural History in New York.
