Living History, Community Event, Talks/Lectures
With Britain alone sending over 100,000 women—most of them volunteers—to the Western Front, women played an important role serving their country and saving thousands of lives. This program explores the various work women did at the Western Front in WWI as nurses and for the first time as doctors, ambulance drivers, and motorcycle messengers for the newly formed Royal Air Force. The lecture will be Interspersed with dramatized diary entries from women who were there, as well as stunning period photographs.
